Ayanda Swana
Country Head: Siemens Healthineers South Africa
Automated Coagulation Analyzer - Shanghai Sun Biotech

Ayanda Swana began his career as a professional nurse, holding both a BSc Honours Degree in Nursing and a Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing. He later went on to further his academics with a post graduate Diploma in Marketing and Sales from the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) which afforded him many opportunities in healthcare. As a professional nurse, Ayanda practiced at the Cardiothoracic ICU at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital before joining Boehringer Ingelheim (a German pharmaceutical company) where he served tenure for twenty-three years. He worked his way from a pharmaceutical sales rep through the product team and eventually becoming the General Manager for Sub Sahara Africa. In this time, he was also afforded the opportunity to work as an expatriate in their German Head office as the Global Marketing Manager. In 2018, Ayanda joined Siemens Healthineers as the Head of Sales and has developed a professional sales organisation producing great results. In January 2021 he was promoted to the Country Head at Siemens Healthineers South Africa. In his personal life, Ayanda is a husband and a father of two boys. Born in the Eastern Cape, he has achieved many extracurricular successes having completed the Comrades and Two Oceans ultramarathons in 2000 and 2001 respectively. He recently retired from long distance running and by his own admission he is a bad surfer but an up and coming bodyboarder and cross-country skier. He does play golf on occasion and he is currently trying his hand at learning to play piano.
