Dr. Morkor Newman Owiredu

Morkor NEWMAN OWIREDU is a public health physician recently retired from WHO headquarters where she was leading the work on elimination of mother to child transmission (EMTCT) of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B virus, and women’s health in HIV within the former Global HIV, Hepatitis and STI programs. She previously worked in the Africa Regional Office and Ghana Country WHO offices and has extensive experience in communicable disease prevention and control, HIV and STI programming, particularly EMTCT in high burden countries as well as reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health programs..
