Session overview
The session is a comprehensive summary on the state of HPV and STI epidemiology globally and in Africa. The importance of molecular testing will be investigated and the different methods compared and evaluated.
The screening algorithms globally will be discussed with regards to their relevance in the African context. Also, the growing concern of drug resistance will be discussed and how this can be tested and managed.
Lastly, we will look at the applicability of Seegene Assays to address these concerns discussed.

Created the local subsidiary of Seegene to create a more direct, technical based link with the Sub-Saharan territories.

Mr Victor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science with Medical Microbiology specialty, Master in Disaster Risk Management and Development Study and currently enrolled in M.Phil./Ph.D. Public Health program in Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Dr. Modupe O. Coker

Dr. Coker holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Maryland School of Medicine (2015), a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (2007), and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria (2004). Her research focuses on characterizing the effect of early-life infections (including HIV/AIDS), behavioural and environmental factors on microbial composition in the context of oral/dental disease.
