Dr. Mohamed Haroun, an experienced Executive with over 20+ years of Strategic Management experience, currently leads GE HealthCare's Africa region, which spans over multiple countries including Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, among others. He is supported by a team of around 300+ employees and is based at GE HealthCare's Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt. Prior to his current role, Dr. Haroun held various Senior Management positions at Multinational Medical Equipment companies in Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East. His extensive proficiency has equipped him with a strong understanding of the regional market.
A champion of education - Dr. Haroun holds a Doctoral degree in International Business from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at the Maastricht School of Management and taught MBA courses at the German University in Cairo and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Haroun has published research papers on various topics, including monitoring the financial stability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), short-term trading behavior in the Egyptian stock market, and the role of SMEs in enhancing exports in developing countries. As of June 1st, 2024, Dr. Mohamed Haroun was appointed General Manager - LCT Africa Region.

3. What are your organisational goals for 2026-2027? Please highlight some of your recent and upcoming partnerships, if any.
Our organisational goals for 2025–2026 are centred around accelerating digital transformation in healthcare, expanding access to quality care, and strengthening our role as a long-term, trusted partner in the markets we serve, particularly across Africa.
We aim to continue bringing innovative healthcare technologies and integrated solutions under one roof, enabling healthcare providers to modernize infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and ultimately deliver better patient outcomes. A key focus is scaling digital health capabilities, including data-driven insights, connectivity, and interoperable systems that support more efficient and patient-centric care delivery.
Equally important is our commitment to local investment. We are focused on deepening our presence in Nigeria and across the region by building local capacity, strengthening skills development, and ensuring we have the resources and expertise on the ground to support our customers end-to-end, from strategy through to implementation and ongoing optimisation.
