UAE extends mental health support amid tension in the Middle East
Health authorities in the UAE offer emotional guidance to its multicultural population in the form of hotlines and essential resource links.

As the UAE continues to stand its ground as a secure nation with strong investments in defence worth US$23.9 billion, government authorities have undertaken comprehensive efforts to extend specialised health assistance to its citizens, residents and tourists amidst the current situation in the Middle East region.
Among these are dedicated mental health support hotlines based in the UAE, a proactive approach to give those distressed a safe space to speak to a healthcare professional and gain peace of mind:
800-SAKINA (800-725 462) has been activated by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi (HAAD) in collaboration with SAKINA. The free hotline is open 24/7 to everyone in the UAE.
800-1717 is the Istijaba Mental Health Support hotline in the UAE that connects callers to trained mental health professionals. Catering to the country’s diverse population, this hotline offers emotional support and guidance in various languages including English, Arabic, and French.
Residents in Abu Dhabi are encouraged to download the SAHATNA app to gain access to an extensive list of licensed mental health practitioners and screening platforms. Furthermore, those seeking additional guidance in Dubai can refer to the official website of Dubai Health Authority (DHA) for a compiled list of all its licensed mental health clinics.
