Dr. Okechukwu Anyanwu is the Group Chairman of DCL Group, a leading indigenous clinical laboratory solutions provider in West Africa. A Medical Laboratory Scientist, entrepreneur, and business leader with over 20 years of experience in Nigeria and Europe, he founded DCL Laboratory Products Ltd in 2005 to modernize laboratory practice through advanced diagnostic technologies.
He pioneered the introduction of automated laboratory systems, apheresis technology, and immunohistochemistry robotics in Nigeria, while supporting major healthcare milestones such as successful bone marrow transplantation at UBTH. Renowned for his commitment to patient safety and capacity building, he has received numerous awards for advancing laboratory healthcare across West Africa.
1. Briefly tell us about your organisation, the journey to date and your focus areas.
DCL Is a leading indigenous healthcare and clinical laboratory solutions provider in West Africa, committed to improving healthcare delivery through innovative medical technologies, laboratory automation, diagnostics, and healthcare support services. Established in 2005, DCL began as a bridge between global manufacturers of medical laboratory equipment and healthcare institutions in Nigeria. Over the years, the company has expanded its footprint across West Africa with regional operations in Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
Our journey has been defined by pioneering achievements in laboratory automation, transfusion medicine, molecular diagnostics, histopathology, and healthcare capacity building. DCL has consistently introduced cutting-edge technologies into the region, supported healthcare institutions with training and technical expertise, and contributed significantly to improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.

We are focused on increasing our regional presence, enhancing customer support systems, investing in capacity development for healthcare professionals, and introducing more innovative technologies that improve diagnostic turnaround time and patient outcomes.
Another major goal is to deepen collaborations with government institutions, teaching hospitals, private healthcare providers, and international healthcare technology manufacturers to drive sustainable healthcare transformation across the region.
